    Going global does pay off: Google International > Google US


    According to Google's Q1 results (and John Yunker's blog where I read the info), Google international has surpassed US Revenue (51% for International).

    Google does spend a lot of money in localization and continues to bet on their +40 language approach, adding languages, localized features and apps all the time.

    Worst Game Ever?



    I don't believe they spent a lot in localizing the game (don't believe developpers even thought of it).
    Localization is important, but let's agree that the quality of the game comes first :-)

    Games: Localized titles DO sell more

    If you missed the Paris Game Developers Conference, you probably want to catch up by reading the many reports and blogs all over the internet on the many interesting sessions and seminars held in the conference.

    GamaSutra is publising a very interesting article summarizing Jaime Giné's interesting presentation on EA's experiences and results from different surveys and tests with different parts of game packs that ARE or ARE NOT localized, and the results in sales in the different countries.

    Of course we all knew that in countries like Spain, the public really appreciates the localization of the titles and this can have a huge impact on the success of the game in the market. However there are more detailed conclusions on this summary.

    Mr. Giné, VP of International Development Services also presented valuable concepts and conclusions on market segmentation that could help understand the international gaming market.
